Cases of non-Dominant varieties Revolt: the cases of Syrian and Egyptian Dialects

There were certain instances in the history of the Arabic language when calls came out in the twentieth century asking that the dialect replaces the Modern Standard Arabic (MSA). These calls were due to political, historical and social reasons that were prominent at the time.  Socialism and literacy were at their peak.  Moreover, Egypt and Syria histories and political power within the Arab countries made them the headquarters of these calls. Thus, these calls were asking to place the dominant with the non-dominant varieties. Although these calls failed at the end, the initiation, development and failure, shall be elaborated.
